CLARIDGE’S RESTAURANT CELEBRATES ITS FIRST ANNIVERSARY

25/09/2024

Claridge’s Restaurant, the classically inspired but contemporary British dining room, is delighted to announce the launch of a new menu today, Tuesday 24th September, to celebrate its first birthday.

A year since the restaurant threw open its glorious art-deco doors, the team has unveiled a brand new menu that celebrates the best seasonal British produce from local suppliers, combined with an added touch of Claridge’s flair synonymous with the Mayfair institution. Seafood dishes take centre stage alongside sharing plates and time-honoured hits, whilst not forgetting firm favourites from the launch menu, including the signature Black truffle crumpets and Parker house loaf – perfectly paired with Claridge’s crest butter.

Served from the open marble kitchen, new starters include Potted shrimp scone with horseradish, dill, and Cornish crab with crème fraîche and pickled apple. A spectacular Seafood Tower is deliciously laden with crab, scallops, langoustine and clams, and crowned with optional lobster or Beluga caviar for added ceremony.

New additions, which feel like old friends, include Claridge’s Fish Pie with Scottish langoustine, cod, salmon, smoked haddock and seasonal greens, designed for sharing, and Dover Sole – available Grilled or Meunière. Lobster spaghetti with roasted tomatoes, and peppers, Tomahawk of Herefordshire beef with French fries, girolles and Bérnaise sauce for two, and sides of Honey glazed roots, Dauphinoise potatoes, and Hispi cabbage Caesar, provide much needed comfort as we shift into the colder months.

Desserts from Claridge’s Restaurant's exceptional pastry team are suitably decadent. Vanilla mille-feuille with custard cream and caramel sauce; Chocolate souffle tart with cocoa nib ice cream; and Profiteroles with vanilla cream and hot chocolate sauce delight. The new cheeseboard features all-British cheeses, sourced from Nottinghamshire to St. Andrew’s, accompanied by a seasonal chutney and plum crackers.

At the bar, one can order the perfect aperitif or cocktail to commence or conclude the evening. Heroes include the Ambre Highball – a white wine spritzer with notes of stone fruit – and the Honey & Orange Sour with Bombay Premier Cru, Beesou Aperitif, Cointreau and honey.

Designed by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio and paying homage to the hotel’s art deco design heritage, the restaurant is a triumph of Calcutta Viola marble, antique brass, mosaic flooring and dramatic pendant lighting. Distinctive art deco starburst skylights and artwork from Claridge’s extensive private collection, further define the space and fuse heritage with the contemporary.

Claridge’s Restaurant
